EPM updates for December 2024 are here. When I first skimmed through the list, I did not see much beyond lots of updates to EDM. But as I went into the details, there are actually some really good updates in addition to the EDM items. Updates will go to test environments December 6th and prod environments December 20th.
Support for Multiple Custom Sender Email Addresses
Currently, the default sender address for the emails from OCI Gen 2 environments is no.reply@epm.oraclecloud.com and one custom sender address can be configured. Now we will be able to have multiple custom sender addresses. This will allow the use of unique sender addresses for each environment. For example, emails related to the Planning environment can have the sender address no.reply.planning@example.com while emails related to EDM can have the sender address no.reply.edm@example.com.
Invalid Members and Comments Retained in Ad Hoc Grids After Refresh
A new option in Smart View ad hoc grids to retain invalid members after refresh will be available. Additionally, a cell style can be set for the invalid cells that will help quickly identify the issues. This is a cool feature that will help users when they incorrectly enter member names in an ad hoc. The feature needs to be enabled in Application Settings by an Administrator.
Use Flex Forms in Smart View (Mac and Browser)
More parity between Smart View for Office and Smart View for Mac! Flex forms will now be available in Smart View for Mac, previously only available in Smart View for Office.
New Action Menu Option: Enable for Ad Hoc
Action menus had been restricted to forms, but now they can be made available in ad hocs. For example, a global action menu can include a business rule to launch and this menu can be accessed directly from an ad hoc. This is a very cool feature!
New Statistical Custom Functions in Calculation Manager
I am pleasantly surprised by this update. Several custom functions are being added to calc manager for statistical calculations.
- @CalcMgrExcelBINOMDIST: Returns the individual term binomial distribution probability
- @CalcMgrExcelNORMSDIST: Returns the normal distribution
- @CalcMgrExcelNORMSINV: Returns the value z such that, with probability p, a standard normal random variable takes on a value that is less than or equal to z.
- @CalcMgrExcelPERCENTILE: Returns the k-th percentile of values in a range
- @CalcMgrExcelPERCENTRANK: Returns the rank of a value in a data set as a percentage of the data set
- @CalcMgrExcelRANK: Returns the rank of a number in a list of numbers
Planning Workforce Module Automatically Determines the FixParallel Dimension
Workforce will now automatically determine the FixParallel dimension. This will improve performance, especially in larger applications. Existing implementations of Workforce will need to take steps to apply this change, be sure to review the documentation in detail.
There are other updates that may be of more interest to you, especially those for EDM, so check out the full document and be prepared when environments are updated.
As always, happy EPM’ng!
