I did not expect to be writing about EPM updates for January 2025. However, there is one that I have been waiting to see for a while now: Oracle Smart View for Google Workspace. Updates will go to test environments January 3rd and prod environments January 17th.
General Availability of Oracle Smart View for Google Workspace
This functionality has been in the works for a while, and I am looking forward to testing it. It will be available in Planning, FreeForm, FCC, EPCM, and Tax Reporting. Key features include:
- Form operations such as Open and Refresh Forms, Submit Data from Forms, Copy Versions, and Instructions
- Ad hoc analysis operations such as Zoom, Pivot, Keep/Remove Only, Insert Attribute, and Save Ad Hoc Grids
- Multiple Connections in the Same Sheet
- Multiple Grid Ad Hoc Sheets
- Smart View Options and Cell Styles
- Member Selection, Cell Actions, and Supporting Details
- Drill Through in Web Browser only
- Adjust, Grid Spread, and Mass Allocate
- User Variables and Preferences
- Flex Forms, Business Rules, and Member Formulas
- Task Lists, Approvals, and Job Console
- Functions: HsGetValue, HsSetValue, HsAlias, and HsGetSheetInfo
- Free-Form Mode
- Favorites and Actions Menu
There are a couple of steps necessary to make this functionality available to users, be sure to review the documentation.
There are a couple of other updates that may be of interest to you, including a new business rule for Strategic Workforce Planning and Workforce Planning. Check out the full document and be prepared when environments are updated.
