EPM Auto Predict Configuration

Oracle just released an update that affects Auto Predict called Calendars and Events. I’m not going to get into that new functionality yet, which is very cool, but instead point out a configuration change as a result of the update.

I logged into one of our test pods to check out the new features and noticed a problem. I opened an existing auto prediction model and saw this.

There is now a selection for the calendar to use and it appears that this will need to be updated for each existing configuration. Since I do not want to use a calendar on the existing prediction models, I will need to update each to None for calendar.

Additionally, another setting that needs to be updated is the Future Data selection.

This is updated to use the rolling forecast periods as originally configured.

I was not expecting to have to update existing prediction models. Luckily, this is a simple fix, we just have to go into each prediction model and update the Calendar and Future Periods This is also a reminder that when new features are introduced, it is important to check them out in the test environments and update the applications as needed before the features go into the production environments.

As always, happy EPM’ng!
